When the fledgling NCR’s revolt against the Dominion came, the friendship of city-states of the Dwarven Freehold dotted through the Silver Ridge Mountains was a substantial aid to the Caldonians. With the NCR’s independence achieved, permanent peace treaties were signed with the Freehold, which otherwise sits inside NCR territory.
